Great Dogs, Ready-Made for Home

Puppies aren't for everyone. Our adult dogs — retired breeding dogs and carefully assessed rescues — arrive house-trained, past the chewing stage and overflowing with gratitude.

Why adopt an adult

What You See Is What You Get

Known character

No surprises. We tell you honestly how each dog is with children, cats, visitors and the vacuum cleaner.

Training included

House manners, lead walking and basic commands are already in place — we top them up before homing.

Full health check

Vet-examined, vaccinated, spayed or neutered where appropriate, and covered by the same health promise.

Settling support

Two weeks of daily check-ins, a home visit, and a trainer on call while your new dog finds their feet.

How it works

Finding Your Perfect Match

  1. 1

    Tell us your life

Work hours, garden, other pets, activity level — the more honest you are, the better the match.

  2. 2

    Meet, walk, repeat

Come for walks and home visits until everyone — including existing pets — is completely comfortable.

  3. 3

    Trial fortnight

Every adult adoption starts as a two-week trial with daily support, so nobody has to guess.

Questions

Adult Adoption FAQs

Mostly our own retired breeding dogs, plus a small number of owner-surrendered dogs we assess in foster. We never take dogs we cannot honestly rehome.

Between two and seven years old — past the chaos, with a decade of companionship ahead. Senior dogs have a reduced adoption fee.

The dog comes straight back to us, no judgement and no time limit. Our contract guarantees it, and in ten years it has rarely been needed.

Each dog is tested with children of different ages before listing. We will only match you with a dog proven comfortable around your household.
